Welcome to Scentdogs
Scentdogs is a privately owned and operated K-9 detection service in the Maritime Provinces of Canada.Our areas of focus include drugs, bed bugs, carpenter ants and mould. An odd mix no doubt, but drugs are ever present in our businesses and elsewhere, and cost us millions of dollars in lost production, damaged equipment, insurance premiums and claims every year. Our natural climate makes for a wonderful breeding ground for mould in our homes, offices and schools and we spend millions of dollars each year to clean up the mess not to mention the health complications due to allergies. Bed bugs are making a come-back. They are reaching epidemic proportions world wide and over the last four years their spread has been growing at 30% per year. They are not only a nuisance, but if you ever had a bed bug bite you know, that they also cause a great deal of discomfort. The worst part, they are hard to find. That's what we do. Lastly, the lowly carpenter ant. Another little critter that costs us a great deal of money, work and aggravation.
Why Use This Service
A dogs nose is several thousands of times more sensitive than our own. Dogs can be trained to find anything that has an odor and, everything has an odor. A properly trained K-9 detection dog will find it's target quickly and efficiently. Mould, sometimes you can see it and sometimes you can't. Do you tear down the four walls in the room, the whole floor, the house? Or do you get a detection dog to pinpoint where the mould started. Did the pest control guy get all the bed bugs and/or carpenter ants or did a couple escape the spray to start new nests ? Detection is the key to successfully finding and eliminating these problems and that is what we do.It's not what you can see, it's what you can not.
